Xu Yannuo stared at him for two seconds. Seeing his sincere attitude in admitting his mistake, she decided not to press the matter further. After all, she wasn’t an unreasonable person. Their relationship had been rocky at the start, so it was only natural that he had kept things from her. Back then, she couldn’t even stand the sight of him.

Later, unable to hold back her curiosity about the boss’s attitude toward Chen Ciyi, Xu Yannuo asked again, “How did you and the boss meet?”

She went along with Chen Ciyi’s new topic and casually chatted with him about other things.

As they chatted, the topic of acting skills came up. Chen Ciyi smiled and looked at her, “So from now on, the two of us at school will be… the novice duo?”

Xu Yannuo gave him a speechless look before lowering her head to continue eating the stir-fried noodles. After a few bites and finishing a skewer, she looked up at him, “How about calling ourselves the Best Actor duo instead?” At least that sounds better, ugh!

After finishing the remaining skewers and noodles, the two took a taxi directly back to school.

They returned just in time—right after the first evening self-study session had ended. There was no one checking at the school gate, and the intern teacher supervising the self-study session hadn’t noticed either. Taking advantage of the break, the two casually made their way back to the classroom.

On Saturday, Chen Yiyi arranged to meet Xu Yannuo at 9 a.m. at the entrance of the café where they had previously met by chance. Coincidentally, Xu Yannuo’s coaching session was at 10 a.m. nearby, making it very convenient.

When Xu Yannuo arrived at the entrance, Chen Yiyi was already there. He was wearing a plain white T-shirt and simple dark blue jeans, standing tall in the shade outside the café. Even though he wasn’t directly under the sunlight and his outfit was casual, he still looked as if he were bathed in a layer of light, exuding a sense of sophistication that passersby around him lacked.

As the distance closed between them, Chen Yiyi noticed her. Holding two drinks in one hand, he smiled and waved at her with the other.

Xu Yannuo quickly jogged over to him. When she reached him, she tilted her head up slightly to look at him due to their height difference. “Have you been waiting long?”

“No, I just got here too. Why are you running around in such hot weather?” Chen Chiyi handed her a drink from his hand and tilted his chin toward the nearby café. “It’s iced, their new product.”

Xu Yannuo took it, inserted a straw, and took a sip. The strawberry flavor was quite delicious. “Where are we going now?”

Seeing her pleased expression—her deer-like eyes widening slightly after taking a sip, clearly enjoying the taste—Chen Chiyi smiled. “You’ll find out when we get there.” He tilted his head toward the direction Xu Yannuo had come from. “Let’s go!”

Afterward, the two of them sipped the new drink as they walked toward the place Chen Chiyi said he would take her. They passed by familiar shops and streets one after another. Xu Yannuo couldn’t help but feel that every path was strikingly familiar—not just because she often frequented this area, but because the route he was taking her on was unmistakably the way to her piano room.

However, it might also be a coincidence, given that there are commercial districts and several office buildings nearby.
