Chapter 47 Going Crazy “Do you think being with me is lowly?”..
Han Rao’s words made the man’s body stiffen.
He gripped the steering wheel, smoothly drove the car onto the main road, and then turned his head to look at her.
Even with her lower eyeliner smudged, Han Rao’s beauty remained unaffected.
It was a pity, though, that above the blackish-brown eyeliner were a pair of scarlet, angry eyes, hazy with a layer of mist, and filled with an indescribable repulsion and hatred.
Zhao Jichuan’s throat bobbed, “What do you mean?”
His tone also became very heavy, sinking to the bottom, and he was at loggerheads with her.
Han Rao chuckled, her words filled with utter despair.
He could always feign innocence, but in reality, his calculations were more astute than anyone else’s.
He was just that kind of person—unscrupulous, dark, and despicable, never giving up until he achieved his goal.
She clearly understood him from the beginning, yet his actions today still made her furious and extremely heartbroken.
The woman clutched the seatbelt, tugged at the corner of her mouth, and said helplessly, “Zhao Jichuan, do you really think I’m an idiot? That you can just toy with me and manipulate me as you please?”
Her words became increasingly outrageous, and Zhao Jichuan felt a splitting headache, his brows furrowed.
He had never seen her like this, not even when her agent threw her into a drinking party.
Her tone was flat, and she tried her best to endure, but he still felt her hysteria, her utter defeat. She was like a mad little beast, completely irrational, biting anyone she could find, not caring if she bit someone who truly cared about her.
“What did I scheme against you?” Zhao Jichuan raised his eyes.
“Han Rao, you need to have some conscience as a person.” He couldn’t help but remind her.
Actually, his eyes were terrifyingly deep. At this moment, he really wanted to pull the car over, pat her little face, and question her if she was truly heartless, able to ignore his efforts and his concern, casually treating him like a trash can for venting, and then kicking him after spewing out all her bad emotions.
Or drag her into the bathroom, throw her into the bathtub, and douse her with a basin of cold water from head to toe to sober her up, so she doesn’t go crazy for no reason.
But he did nothing, just held the steering wheel steadily with both hands, his gaze fixed straight ahead.
The traffic light ahead was red, and the car smoothly stopped in the flow of traffic. Two faint honks could be heard.
If Han Rao had observed carefully, she would have noticed the bulging veins on the back of his hands and neck, and a layer of murderous intent in his eyes.
It could be said that Zhao Jichuan had never suffered such a loss or been so wronged.
or the wrongful accusation of the woman he loved.
那
In an instant, the powerful man’s eyes even showed a hint of grievance.
But he didn’t say anything, just stared at the red countdown. The moment it turned green, he silently drove, only wanting to get her home as quickly as possible.
And Han Rao was indeed an angry trapped beast; she had almost no rationality to speak of, nor the patience to observe his reactions or his expressions.
It turned out she had to be so careful, observing his every move, for fear of making him angry.
But today, she didn’t want to tolerate it anymore. She didn’t want to keep backing down, because constantly lowering her bottom line meant being at the mercy of others. Today, he brazenly appeared in front of her parents and grandmother, pretending to be a considerate boyfriend, and tomorrow he could condescendingly expose their true relationship.
Grandma’s health is so poor; she just had surgery, and her heart isn’t good either. If she really knew what kind of dirty deeds she had done, she’d probably be half-dead with anger.
Han Rao bit her lip tightly, “Do you really think I’m so stupid I can’t figure it out? Last time I told you to hide, but you deliberately appeared in front of my brother. What do you want? When I was filming, you repeatedly sought him out and even offered to introduce him to a job. What’s your angle? Zhao Jichuan, do you think I’ve become boring and uninteresting to you, so you want to find some fun for this dirty, filthy, disgusting, unspeakable relationship, is that it?”
The last time she moved, Han Rao was indeed deceived by his sweet words. She didn’t even want to think about Zhao Jichuan’s motive for doing this, numbing herself like a frog slowly boiled in warm water.
But over time, even if you try to avoid thinking about it, the truth of the matter will gradually surface, like a Sword of Damocles, hanging overhead, waiting for the opportune moment to fall, piercing yourself and him.
“It’s been half a year. Are you bored again? Or do you think I’m not scared enough, not anxious enough, so you’ve come up with another way to threaten me? How else do you want to play with me? Tell me, so I can at least be mentally prepared, okay?”
Han Rao asked these questions in great pain, and she had also wondered why Zhao Jichuan was willing to choose her in the first place. Besides her young and beautiful face, it was probably because of her aloof demeanor.
Most of these rich people are perverts. They love to toy with people’s hearts, love to stain a blank slate black, and love to watch powerless and insignificant people struggle like ants.
What could be more amusing than crushing a proud and self-respecting person into the dust?
Han Rao struggled to close her eyes. Strangely, not a single tear fell as she spoke those words.
Perhaps it had all flowed out just now.
She was like a dried-up riverbed, weathered by wind and sun, long since riddled with cracks and fissures beyond recognition.
Han Rao turned her head to look out the window. She thought as long as this unbearable relationship was maintained within the capital, it would be fine. But he disagreed, insisting on forcefully infiltrating the Suzhou area, penetrating her sensitive zones without her permission.
Zhao Jichuan listened to her aggressive words in disbelief. He frowned, said nothing, and slowly pulled a cigarette from his pocket and put it in his mouth. The lighter clicked, and a crimson flame flickered. The man’s face was quickly obscured by white smoke, appearing dark,闷, and heavy.
The smell of smoke quickly permeated Han Rao’s nostrils. With her sensitive sense of smell, she felt like she was choking to death. The smoke, like the man himself, invaded her internal organs, making her miserable.
The words Han Rao had just spoken had been on the tip of her tongue since the moment she heard his name today, but now that she had truly and completely poured them out, she felt no sense of catharsis or pleasure in blaming him.
The man remained silent, like the ash, lightly scattered, devoid of any emotion.
His quietness made her seem even more like a complete lunatic.
Han Rao laughed aloud, looking at him in despair.
After a long while, she heard him say, “Han Rao, is that what you’ve always thought of me in your heart?”
He was shrewd, he was good at scheming, he was despicable and shameless—he could openly admit all of these things.
Because he was just that kind of person who didn’t care about anything.
These were just some evaluations. If he had heard others say this about him in person, he would definitely have smiled and agreed, saying, “You’re right,” and then watched that person’s face change, becoming uneasy and terrified.
All of these were extremely interesting.
But upon hearing Han Rao’s malicious speculation about him, refusing to listen to his explanations, and even unwilling to delve deeper into his motives, she condemned him.
He only felt sadness, pity; even the taste of nicotine couldn’t numb his nerves. He only felt a dull ache, wave after wave, in his heart.
Zhao Jichuan casually rolled down the car window, flicked the ash from his cigarette, and the ash drifted away with the wind, instantly vanishing.
The cold wind snuck in through the window, giving Han Rao goosebumps.
She tensed her shoulders, waiting for his judgment. She could bear any outcome, but she was determined to protect her family.
The man noticed her shiver out of the corner of his eye and quietly closed the car door again.
“I’m asking you a question, answer me.” His tone was terrifyingly calm.
Han Rao’s lips were pursed into a line, and she said nothing. Her jaw was clenched, clearly in a stance that she would rather die than give in.
Zhao Jichuan pulled the car over to the side of the road, unbuckled his seatbelt, put out his cigarette, and clamped her chin with his large hand. The force was so great that Han Rao almost wondered if her jaw would dislocate the next second.
Sensing her pain, he eased his grip, “I’m asking you a question.”
He repeated emotionlessly.
Han Rao lifted her eyelids to look at him, saying self-deprecatingly, “Zhao Jichuan, if you’re angry, then just kill me. But please, don’t appear in front of my family again, okay? I don’t want them to know what despicable things I’ve done.”
Her voice was tinged with a hint of a sob, yet she still chose to beg him.
“Despicable?” He repeated the word, his eyes showing disbelief. “You think being with me is despicable?”
She really had a way with words, knowing exactly what to say to provoke him.
The man stared at her crimson lips, then bit down unexpectedly, as if in punishment, sucking and nibbling.
There was no romance in this kiss; it was clearly two angry beasts fighting, their lips and teeth clashing, and a metallic, rusty taste instantly filled their mouths—he didn’t know if it was her blood or his.
Zhao Jichuan still hadn’t understood the reason for Han Rao’s emotional outburst. At first, he suppressed his bad temper and even tried to glean the cause of her madness from her few words, hoping to address the issue appropriately. But she truly exemplified what it meant to “speak astonishingly”; every word, every phrase she uttered, danced on his last nerve, like a knife plunging into his heart.
He was in immense pain, yet he was unwilling for her to remain unperturbed, calm and collected. So he bit her lips, tearing at her.
He hurts, and she must hurt too.
Han Rao stubbornly tried to push him away, to scratch him, to claw at him, but he remained unmoved, like a wall, pressing down on her, making it impossible for her to breathe.
Han Rao could only pound on his back, desperately wanting the kiss to end.
Zhao Jichuan indeed let go of her. He squinted, then grabbed her wrist and pressed it against his chest, before forcefully kissing her again.
He forcefully stirred the base of her tongue, swallowing her saliva, and hooked her soft tongue tip into his mouth.
He thought, if only her whole body were as soft as her tongue.
But she was a tough nut to crack. The next second, her hard, sharp teeth bit him.
Zhao Jichuan cried out in pain, finally letting go of her completely.
The woman gasped for air as if she had regained the right to breathe, her whole body trembling slightly. She was wearing a camel-colored coat today, which was now wrinkled across the chest.
Her eyes were also very red, her breathing was rapid, her small face was wrinkled, and she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand in full resistance.
Immediately after, she reached for the car door, wanting to get away from him.
But to no avail, the car door was locked, and no matter how hard she pushed, she couldn’t open it.
Han Rao turned her head and said to him, “Put me down.”
She didn’t want to spend another second alone with him; she felt like she was suffocating.
The man sat there quietly, watching her, like a statue, unmoving.
Seeing this, Han Rao had no choice but to step past him to unlock the door, but the man grabbed her wrist, stopping her.
The next second, he stepped on the gas, and the car immediately sped down the road.
Han Rao was unwilling, tensing her face and telling him to stop the car and open the door, even wanting to give him
causing trouble.
He said indifferently, “If you’re tired of living, I don’t mind dying with you. Anyway, the crimes I’ve committed in Miss Han’s eyes are countless, so I don’t mind adding one more.”
Han Rao indeed remained motionless.
He’s really a madman, actually joking with her about life.
Zhao Jichuan saw that she had become obedient, and he gritted his back teeth, thinking that being afraid of death was a good thing, as it meant she had a weakness.
I’m afraid that when a person is so desperate that they’re not even afraid of death, there’s truly nothing that can be done.
The hotel was not far from the hospital, just about a ten-minute drive, and the car was parked in the underground parking lot.
A fire raged in the man’s chest, but he suppressed it. After getting out of the car, he dragged her from the passenger seat. She stumbled, and her knees buckled slightly when her feet touched the dark green floor.
Zhao Jichuan quickly grabbed her arm.
Han Rao stood firm, then resisted and tried to pry his hand away.
Zhao Jichuan was so angry that he couldn’t be bothered to talk to her. Besides, the underground parking lot was an open space, and someone could come by at any time. He didn’t want to be a laughingstock, like a monkey performing for others, so without a word, he directly picked her up by the waist and carried her on his shoulder.
The man strode into the elevator, took her upstairs, and upon entering the room, threw her directly onto the bed.
He pulled things out of his overcoat pockets and threw them onto the bedside table, then took off his jacket, rolled up his sleeves, and looked down at her, “Tell me, what exactly are you thinking?”
Han Rao, suffering from insufficient blood supply to her brain, was dazed the whole way, her memory only retaining the man’s neatly pressed black suit trousers and leather shoes. She now lay on pure white sheets, appearing utterly helpless.
I don’t know why, but she suddenly remembered the first time Zhao Jichuan asked her out. She was late because of a taxi, and at the time, she urged the driver to go faster, and the driver’s gaze as he looked her over.
As if looking at something filthy, slowly devouring her soul.
She used to think she truly didn’t care about what others thought, that she could brazenly sell her body and be an illicit mistress.
But only she knew that the gaze had actually hurt her. She just numbly looked away, swallowing her grievances, pretending not to care.
She was aloof, as always, and inappropriately so.
She had high self-esteem and wanted to survive in the entertainment industry fair and square.
She was also sensitive, possessing the most valuable empathy as an actress.
But these personality traits led to the desolation of her relationship with Zhao Jichuan.
She wasn’t suited for this line of work, not suited to be kept, because she couldn’t be open and unashamed.
Han Rao knew that there were many mistresses in this world who lived in the shadows. They could spend men’s money lavishly, live carefree and unburdened, and dismiss others’ words and evaluations as nonsense.
But she couldn’t do it. When she was seventeen, just starting university, she came to Beicheng alone with her suitcase, full of hope to establish herself in the entertainment industry through her own efforts and acting skills.
She changed.
She abandoned her purest self.
Han Rao closed her eyes, her breathing coming in ragged gasps.
She couldn’t imagine, a strange driver, a gaze with an unclear meaning, would all make her uneasy?
If her grandmother and parents really found out she was being kept, how devastated she would be.
The man was still staring at her, his gaze like a thousand swords, piercing her until she was riddled with holes.
Han Rao slowly opened her eyes and sat up, propping herself up on the bed.
“I didn’t think much of it; I just don’t want you to appear in front of my family. I just don’t want to expose our relationship to them. I just don’t want them to know that I don’t respect or love myself.”
She lifted her eyelids to look at him, her lips trembling slightly.
She had never spoken to him so clearly and directly before.
She had always been careful to conceal it, trying her best to make him think she was “dedicated.”
If he hadn’t crossed her line today, she probably would have just muddled through until their relationship completely ended, without ever saying those words.
“What’s our relationship?” he asked in a deep voice.
Zhao Jichuan didn’t understand why, even though he had always doted on her and pampered her like a girlfriend, she couldn’t feel any of his love.
Han Rao’s eyelashes trembled. He was making things difficult for her again. He knew it was hard for her to talk about this relationship, hard to utter the words “kept woman.”
Han Rao smiled, lowered her head, took off her coat, threw it on the ground, and then pulled off her white sweater over her head. In an instant, the woman’s smooth skin was only covered by a white bra, with the alluring sight of her chest faintly visible.
She paused slightly, then reached behind her, unfastened the clasp, removed the last layer of obstruction, and tossed it aside.
Zhao Jichuan looked at her coldly, almost grinding his back teeth to dust.
As expected, he wasn’t wrong from the start; Han Rao was indeed different from other women. She always had a knack for driving him crazy with just a few words or a single action.
He prided himself on his emotional stability, but in front of her, she always managed to push him to the brink of exasperation.
At this moment, he really wanted to grab her by the neck and ask her if she thought that no matter how harsh her words were, or how angry she made him, as long as they went to bed once, he would forgive everything?
The man’s face flickered between light and shadow, his eyes narrowed, as he forcefully suppressed the urge to truly act, watching her shed her black lace panties, completely naked.
The next second, his heart sank to the bottom.
Because she pursed her lips slightly and said, “The kind of relationship where I’m naked and you screw me.”
