Chapter 7: The Throne of the God of Apocalypse and Slaughter (Part One)
The colossal throne soared ten zhang high, its towering backrest inlaid with countless gems. Faintly visible upon it was a human figure in relief, radiating a sharp, majestic, and even terrifying oppressive force that spread outward.
At the apex of the backrest rested a hemispherical crimson gem, gazing down upon the earth like half a sun. Yet its light bore a dim orange-red hue, emanating a dreadful pressure akin to the advent of doomsday.
At the chest level of the humanoid figure, just above the backrest of the throne, the most dazzling feature was a golden-red diamond-shaped gem. Every facet on its surface gleamed with razor-sharp brilliance, from which emanated the vast majority of the radiant light.
Upon the broad seat, two lion-like sculptures crouched on either side as attendants, roaring fiercely. Countless magnificent patterns seemed to flow downward from the backrest, covering the entire throne.
The moment this throne appeared, a pillar of golden light descended upon Long Xingyu, enveloping both him and Long Haochen within its glow. As the golden light expanded, Long Haochen vanished, while Long Xingyu’s body magnified dozens of times in size before slowly descending to sit upon the throne hovering before him.
Within Odin Town, neither the rampaging demon wolfmen nor the native inhabitants could move under this immense pressure. The townspeople’s eyes reflected sheer terror, while those of the demon wolfmen brimmed with despair.
A demon wolfman with golden hair, far more robust than his kin, cried out in a trembling voice, “Th-this is the Throne of the God of Apocalypse and Slaughter.”
The colossal Long Xingyu slowly took his seat upon that magnificent throne. His icy gaze brimmed with boundless majesty. The moment he sat down, the crimson-gold diamond-shaped gem that had been on the backrest suddenly appeared over his chest, and the entire sky instantly turned crimson-gold.
“Judgment.”
These two cold words escaped Long Xingyu’s lips. A brilliant orange-red radiance erupted from behind him, coalescing into a massive orange-red sword of light that hovered above his head.
The golden-haired demon wolf’s eyes were already filled with despair; he could not comprehend how such a mighty figure had appeared here on the frontier of the Holy Temple Alliance. For demon wolves like them, even escape was impossible.
Countless streaks of orange-red light descended from the sky, drifting down onto each demon wolf as if guided by unseen eyes.
Without even the slightest chance to struggle, the demon wolves quietly vanished from this world, leaving not a single trace behind—so simply and directly did they disappear.
“Redemption.”
A golden-crimson light formed a canopy across the sky, descending upon the mortal world the instant the Demon Wolfman vanished. The people of Odin Town began to regain their ability to move. Anyone still clinging to life slowly rose within that warm golden-crimson radiance, their wounds healing at a speed visible to the naked eye. The fires that had broken out were now completely extinguished. The only things that could not be changed were those who had already perished and the destroyed buildings.
With a flash of golden light, a figure suddenly appeared before Long Xingyu, who sat enthroned; it was none other than the blond Demon Wolfman from earlier.
Humans rated demons using the same system as they did magical beasts. This blond Demon Wolfman was at least a fifth-rank demon. Yet, before Long Xingyu, it resembled nothing more than a humble ant, devoid of any possibility to struggle. Apart from him, all the invading Demon Wolfmen had already vanished.
“What is your purpose in invading the southern region of the Temple Alliance?” Long Xingyu’s cold voice brooked no argument.
The golden-haired demon wolf man remained defiant; despite the despair and reluctance filling his eyes, he did not yield.
“Throne of Apocalypse and Slaughter, Divine Seal King—are you Long Xingyu, the Divine Seal Knight of Judgment and Retribution from the Knight Temple?”
Long Xingyu replied calmly, “Indeed. I preside over judgment and retribution. Answer my questions.”
The golden-haired demon wolf man’s expression suddenly turned ferocious. “So what if you are a Divine Seal Knight? When the Demon Gods descend upon this earth, the Great Demon Gods will avenge me. Even in death, I will tell you nothing.”
Long Xingyu’s gaze hardened. “Then go ahead and die.”
The golden light vanished, and the golden-haired demon wolfman disappeared in an instant. Long Xingyu sat solemnly upon the Divine Throne of Apocalypse and Slaughter, his eyes filled with contemplation. Moments later, bathed in radiant gold, he and his Divine Throne transformed into a streak of golden meteor and vanished from sight.
The surviving townsfolk of Odin Town had already fallen to their knees, worshipping the fading golden light in the sky. They did not know who Long Xingyu was; in their eyes, the golden figure who had judged all the demon wolfmen was truly a god.
With a flash of golden light, two figures suddenly appeared atop Mount Odin.
Long Xingyu remained unchanged, clad in a simple robe with his black hair fluttering. Once all the golden light vanished, he reverted to appearing just like an ordinary person.
Long Haochen stood beside his father, utterly speechless. Even though he had guessed hundreds of times about his father’s strength, he could never have imagined that his father was a being akin to a deity.
The scene he had just witnessed shook him profoundly. After more than two years of cultivation, Long Haochen had once held some confidence in himself, yet at this moment, he realized that compared to his father, he was as insignificant as a speck of dust.
“Father, Father…” Gazing at his father, Long Haochen’s eyes brimmed with brilliant radiance, releasing from his pale golden irises a look of adoration, even akin to faith.
Long Xingyu gently patted his shoulder. “Here, I am just a husband and a father.”
“A demonic invasion?” Bai Yue was also atop the mountain at this moment. Even though this place was some distance from Odin Town, she had clearly witnessed Long Xingyu unleashing the Divine Seal Throne in the sky earlier. That golden radiance was visible even from Haoyue City, hundreds of miles away.
Long Xingyu frowned and nodded. “It was merely a probing attack. No true demonic powerhouses appeared. It seems I must return to the Alliance ahead of schedule.”
Bai Yue nodded softly and took Long Xingyu’s large hand in hers.
Long Haochen’s shock had not faded in the least. “Father, are you a Divine Seal Knight?” he asked, summoning his courage.
Long Xingyu nodded. “You must have heard everything that werewolf demon said just now. Within the Knight Temple, I preside over judgment and execution. In the Temple Alliance as well, I am in charge of criminal justice.”
With an expression full of admiration, Long Haochen said, “Father, what exactly is the Divine Seal Throne? Is it possible for me to cultivate and become as powerful as you?”
Long Xingyu nodded again, his expression turning serious. “Of course it’s possible. I attained the Divine Seal Throne at the age of forty-seven, before I met your mother. As long as you are willing to work hard, I believe you will reach that stage even earlier than I did.”

The Throne of the God of Apocalypse and Slaughter (Part 2)
Gazing into the distance, Long Xingyu let out a sigh and said, “It seems the demons can no longer bear their solitude. Haochen, remember this: though the demonic race is powerful, we must never yield. As knights, we fight to protect our homeland, even if it means shedding our last drop of blood.”
“Mm.” Long Haochen nodded vigorously in agreement. At this moment, his father was no longer merely a teacher to him; he had become an object of worship, a living faith. Without experiencing it firsthand, one could never imagine the sheer power of the Divine Seal Throne. The vast spiritual fluctuations, immense as an ocean, and the world-shattering light of judgment had all left indelible marks upon his heart.
“Father, are we leaving this place?” Long Haochen asked.
Long Xingyu looked down at him and said, “This does not include you.”
“Huh?” Long Haochen was greatly surprised, looking at his father in confusion.
Long Xingyu spoke calmly, “A young eagle that never leaves the protection of its parents’ wings can never become the king of the skies, soaring through the nine heavens. I originally expected to guide you for three years, but it seems we must end this early. I will take your mother back to the Temple Alliance to handle some matters, and then I have another promise to fulfill.”
“The Temple Alliance is not suitable for you. If you go there with me, you may never become a Divine Seal Knight like me. Only by climbing step by step, gaining everything through your own efforts, can you truly possess the glory of a knight.”
“Dad, I don’t want to be separated from you and Mom.” Long Haochen suddenly hugged his father’s waist, his eyes filled with reluctance.
Bai Yue looked at Long Xingyu, her gaze equally brimming with pleading.
Long Xingyu stroked Long Haochen’s head. “My foolish child, if you always remained by your mother’s side and mine, your heart would forever harbor dependence and longing. Moreover, even if you were to return with us to the Temple Alliance, you still could not stay by my side. I have been away for several years; too many matters await my attention. This matter is already decided. You must remain here.”
Long Haochen’s body trembled slightly as he fought back his tears. Bai Yue, however, was already weeping as she ran back into the wooden cabin.
Long Xingyu pulled Long Haochen before him and said in a grave tone, “Haochen, before you leave, Father must teach you one last thing.”
Slightly dazed, Long Haochen asked, “What is it?”
Long Xingyu replied solemnly, “Spirit Furnaces.”
“Spirit Furnaces?” Upon hearing these words, Long Haochen’s body trembled involuntarily. He had cultivated under his father’s guidance for two and a half years, during which Long Xingyu had mentioned Spirit Furnaces more than once. Yet, throughout this entire time, his father had never once instructed him on how to cultivate abilities related to Spirit Furnaces.
Long Xingyu nodded and said, “A Divine Furnace is a crucible of spiritual energy. It is not an ability cultivated through our own training, but rather a supreme treasure miraculously nurtured by nature itself. As knights, we have many knight skills to choose from; however, apart from a few self-created techniques derived individually, the vast majority of skills can be cultivated once one reaches the required level of cultivation. The Divine Furnace, however, is different. Nearly every Divine Furnace possesses its own unique characteristics. Even with identical furnaces, the effects produced when cultivated by different individuals will vary.”
“There are many types of Divine Furnaces. Currently, there are seventy-four known kinds, each suited to different professions. Among them, twenty-three are suitable for us knights. Some of these can be shared with assassins and warriors.”
Long Haochen grew increasingly fascinated by what Long Xingyu described about the Divine Furnaces. “Father, where can one obtain a Divine Furnace?”
Long Xingyu replied, “Generally speaking, Divine Furnaces can only be found in places where the spiritual energy of heaven and earth converges, or within certain ancient ruins. Across all professions, those who possess a Divine Furnace are rarer than one in a thousand; this includes us knights. Nevertheless, the Divine Furnace remains the ultimate goal pursued by every profession. This is because even possessing just a single Divine Furnace will make us significantly stronger than other powerhouses of the same rank.”
As he spoke, Long Xingyu removed a black ring from his own finger and placed it on the index finger of Long Haochen’s right hand. Just like the Forget-Me-Not ring, this black ring automatically contracted to fit snugly against Long Haochen’s finger.
“This Ring of Seals contains six seals within it. I have sealed away various powerful skills of the Retribution Knight, encompassing nearly all of them from the fourth to the ninth tier. When your spiritual energy reaches the required level, you can use it to break through the seals inside, learning these skills one by one.”
Then he took out a book and handed it to Long Haochen. “This contains my personal insights into Spiritual Stoves along with a detailed introduction to them. There isn’t time for me to guide you personally. You must comprehend it on your own, do you understand?”
“Father…” Long Haochen called out, but his eyes involuntarily turned red.
“Store it in your Forget-Me-Not ring.”
Long Haochen nodded gently. After he had cultivated internal spiritual energy, Long Xingyu taught him how to activate the ring left to him by the little mute girl.
As spiritual energy flowed into it, the pale golden patterns on the Forget-Me-Not ring seemed to come alive. A faint blue light circulated, and with a flash of radiance, the book recording the mysteries of the Spirit Furnace was drawn inside.
This Forget-Me-Not ring was an extremely precious spatial ring, capable of storing various items totaling approximately ten cubic meters in volume. Additionally, the ring possessed an inherent defensive skill; once activated, it could release a pale blue shield. As long as spiritual energy continued to be infused, this shield would persist, and its strength would increase according to the amount of spiritual energy supplied. Even Long Xingyu had stated that this was a remarkably rare piece of magical jewelry.
Watching Long Haochen put away the booklet, Long Xingyu sighed softly and said, “Haochen, although your father possesses many fine pieces of equipment, I do not intend to leave them to you. For only by earning any weapon or piece of armor through one’s own efforts can one truly learn to cherish it.”
“Father, I don’t want to be separated from you,” Long Haochen said, his tears finally overflowing.
Long Xingyu pulled his son into an embrace and sighed, “Haochen, being deeply emotional is both your strength and your weakness. Remember, without your mother and father by your side from now on, you must speak only three parts of your mind to anyone you meet and never reveal your entire heart.”
“Do not cry. This separation is only temporary. Your father hopes that the next time we meet, you will have become someone who makes me look at you with new admiration.”
“Your father and I are about to leave. Although I cannot leave you any equipment, there is a gift I have long prepared for you.”
As he spoke, Long Xingyu released his son, tapped his own chest with his right hand, and immediately, a strange white light emanated from his breast.
The white light was gentle, yet it pulsed with a unique energy fluctuation, paradoxically imparting a sense of steadiness.
That was neither the energy of sacred light nor Long Xingyu’s spiritual power. As Long Xingyu slowly opened his palm, Long Haochen saw clearly a cluster of white light in his father’s hand. Within it appeared a small tripod cauldron, merely one inch tall, with three legs and two handles, resting in Long Xingyu’s palm.
Those white rays of light emanated from the small white cauldron, soft and pulsating, possessing an allure that made it impossible to look away.
