24 Han Xuanhao's Plan
Shang Wuxin stood in the garden of the Crown Prince's residence, seemingly admiring the flowers, but in reality, there was nothing in her eyes. The entire garden's scenery couldn't hold her gaze for even a moment.
"Crown Prince, the residence has received many invitations from ministers these past few days. Will the Crown Prince be attending?" Wuqing asked.
Since that day when the Crown Prince caused such a scene in the palace, two days have passed. During these two days, the Crown Prince's residence has received stacks of invitations, all inviting the Crown Prince to various banquets.
Shang Wuxin looked at the post that Wuju was holding, casually picked up a few books, glanced at them, and then placed them in Wuju's hands, saying lightly, "No need to pay attention, but also no need to offend them!" In Shang Wuxin's eyes, these people were all fair-weather friends. Even if she were to build a power base, she would not rely heavily on them. More importantly, many of these people were spies sent by other princes. Since her foundation was not yet stable, it was not suitable to take risks.
"Your Highness, in the past few days, Young Master Huan has come to the residence wanting to teach you poetry and literature, but Wuwei has blocked him each time. Should we be wary of this person?" Wuju asked.
Actually, she felt that Young Master Huan had no ill intentions and seemed to be helping the prince.
However, she knew very well that she should be cautious of everyone; otherwise, how could she stay by the prince's side? Even if the prince did not say it, she understood that he was no ordinary person and would surely vie for the throne in the future.
Shang Wuxin also knew that Huan Mo Che had come these past two days, but she had no interest in seeing him at all. Even though Huan Mo Che posed no threat now, looking into those eyes stirred a murderous intent within her to kill him. Such an uncontrollable emotion was absolutely not allowed.
Shang Wuxin did not answer Wuju's question. She hoped they would figure many things out on their own, after all, they were the people she trusted.
"Since you have come, why not show yourself?"
Shang Wuxin's voice suddenly sharpened, and Wu Ku was immediately tense upon hearing the prince's words, his eyes fixed intently on the surroundings, fearing someone might appear to harm the prince.
Han Xuanhao never expected to be discovered. As an assassin, his skills in concealment were naturally excellent, yet he was found out by this prince. These days, he often found himself thinking about the prince while at Hanxing Pavilion. When he heard the news that the prince was heading south during a restless mood, he pondered for a long time before coming to the prince's residence. But after arriving, he didn't know what to say upon seeing the prince, so he quietly hid in a tree, watching the prince below.
The prince wore a white brocade robe, his black hair fluttering in the wind. His back, as straight as pine and bamboo, stood there firmly. His gaze was distant, and his clearly resilient appearance made Han Xuanhao feel a pang of tenderness, wanting to hold that figure in his arms. More importantly, he liked watching the prince like this. The more he looked, the more fascinated he became. Like? Han Xuanhao was stunned. Did he actually like this young prince? Or did he have a penchant for the same sex? Thinking this, Han Xuanhao felt a slight panic.
But Han Xuanhao did not realize that it was precisely because he was so captivated that he inadvertently revealed his breath, allowing Shang Wuxin to discover him so quickly.
"Hehe, Wuxin, you really are alert, you discovered it so quickly!"
A seductive voice came, then Han Xuanhao gracefully descended from the high stairs, his slender body wrapped in red clothes. The collar of the red garment was slightly lowered, full of temptation, and a smile hung on his delicate face. If there were assassins from Hanxing Pavilion present, they would know that the smile on Han Xuanhao's face now was much more genuine than his usual smile.
Shang Wuxin glanced at Han Xuanhao, not understanding why he had come to the Crown Prince's residence. After all, this person was her trading partner or collaborator, but now this Han Xuanhao seemed somewhat different.
However, Shang Wuxin did not think much of it and withdrew her gaze.
"I heard the Crown Prince is going south. I wonder if I might have the chance to go with him and see the world?"
Han Xuanhao said with a smile, though he felt a bit nervous inside. He thought about how the south must have many rebels due to the famine, and the journey was long with many bandits. Seeing the Crown Prince's frail appearance, he was really worried, which was why he came over.
Shang Wuxin did not respond and returned to the study. She would never believe such an unreliable reason from Han Xuanhao, so ignoring him was the best approach.
Watching Shang Wuxin leave, Han Xuanhao felt a bit lost. Why did Shang Wuxin seem not to like him at all? It seemed that he really liked her.
Although he didn’t know what kind of feeling this was, he had never felt this way about anyone before. He had rarely interacted with either men or women, and Shang Wuxin was the first person he wanted to protect. Unfortunately, she was a man. But even if Shang Wuxin didn’t agree, so what? Han Xuanhao’s smile grew more wicked, and he happily left the Crown Prince’s mansion.
